This book is presented by the author in the service of and to assist the decision and policy makers in the Central and State governments as well as the Central and State Information Commissions academicians students, researchers, record managers and informaticians in India and other developing nations alike to understand and address the nitty-gritty of Electronic Information Management as well as to understand the participatory form of governance, i.e. the technological artifact p-Government using Web 2.0 technologies and Govinformatics, a newly developed discipline of informatics dedicated to the cause of the overall electronic information management in the government. The RTI Act, 2005 has for the first time defined a need for the electronic management of information on a country-wide computer communication network. This book, therefore, addresses and throws enough light on the various provisions of the RTI Act, 2005 and its implementations from the viewpoint of the Electronic Information Management. This is for the first time that all the issues, related with information management and electronic information Management (EIM) have been presented in simple and lucid language as well as in details at one place so that the government officials find it convenient to read, easy to understand and implement in their departments or organizations. However, since the principles of information management is same everywhere, therefore even the private organizations can take advantage from the contents of this book for the electronic management of information including documents, records, emails etc. in their workplace for better information organization and access.
