This book is presented by the author in the service of and to assist the decision and policy makers in the Central and State governments as well as the Central and State Information Commissions academicians students, researchers, record managers and informaticians in India and other developing nations alike to understand and address the nitty-gritty of Electronic Information Management as well as to understand the participatory form of governance, i.e. the technological artifact p-Government using Web 2.0 technologies and Govinformatics, a newly developed discipline of informatics dedicated to the cause of the overall electronic information management in the government. The author has also developed a number of new information system models for the government keeping its information management requirements unique only to the government. Information Management in the Government, particularly in the RTI regime, is an area which needs to be addressed holistically. The RTI Act, 2005 has for the first time defined a need for the electronic management of information on a country-wide computer communication network.
